Overview
Icon Plumbing & Heating Ltd. (“Icon,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit https://iconplumbing.ca, use our contact forms, or interact with our scheduling and customer-service tools linked from this site. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
We may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, service address, and details about the plumbing or HVAC work you request. We may also collect technical data automatically — such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP, referring page, and pages viewed — through our hosting provider and analytics described below.
Website analytics (Umami)
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how visitors use this site (for example, which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns). The analytics script is loaded from stats.neudigital.ca, operated by our website partner Neu Digital. Umami is designed to minimize personal data: it does not use advertising cookies, does not track you across unrelated websites for ad purposes, and does not fingerprint your device for marketing. Data is aggregated to help us improve content and performance. For details about how the analytics host processes data, refer to Neu Digital’s privacy practices for that service.
Session replay
On a randomly sampled subset of visits, we may collect short session recordings (mouse movement, scrolling, and clicks on this site) using Umami’s replay tool, also served from stats.neudigital.ca. Recordings use moderate field masking to reduce the chance sensitive typed content is stored, are limited to a maximum duration per session, and are used only to fix usability issues and improve the website — not for advertising. If you prefer not to be recorded, avoid submitting sensitive information in open text fields on this site or contact us using phone or email instead.
Custom events
We log anonymized interaction events (for example, clicks on phone or email links, outbound links, contact-page navigation, form submissions, and mobile menu use) to understand how visitors engage with the site. These events do not include the contents of messages you send through forms.
How we use information
We use contact information to respond to inquiries, schedule service, dispatch technicians, send appointment-related messages, invoice for completed work, support warranty obligations, and improve our operations. We do not sell your personal information.
Email and SMS communications (CASL)
If you contact us, we may send you transactional messages — appointment confirmations, technician arrival updates, quotes, invoices, and warranty follow-ups — by email or SMS. These are operational communications tied to the service you requested. Any commercial messages (for example, occasional service reminders or seasonal tune-up notices) are sent only with your consent in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contacting us directly.
Forms and third parties
Contact forms may be processed through Netlify or similar form providers. Those services act under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also use ServiceTitan or other operational tools for scheduling, dispatch, and invoicing; use of those linked sites is governed by their respective policies.
Retention & safeguards
We retain business records only as long as needed for scheduling, warranty, accounting, and legal compliance, or as required by Alberta and Canadian law. We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Your rights & choices
Under PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to withdraw consent for non-essential communications. Contact us at schedule@iconplumbing.ca or (587) 229-7718 and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Updates
We may update this page periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
